Park Soo-hong Offers Heartfelt Advice to Mother Facing Divorce Amidst Childbirth

On TV CHOSUN's 'We've Had Another Baby', hosts Park Soo-hong and Jang Seo-hee shared the story of a mother who gave birth to an overdue baby while grappling with marital problems.

The episode featured a mother, a former national surfing team hopeful, who was 42 weeks pregnant. Despite being over two weeks past her due date, she juggled her work as a surf judge and raising her 14-month-old son. Shockingly, she revealed that she had decided to divorce her husband, intending to raise their children alone.

The couple had been experiencing significant conflict due to personality differences, busy schedules, and financial struggles. The mother expressed, "It's better to divorce than to fight in front of the children," while the husband insisted, "I want to protect our family." Witnessing this, Park Soo-hong shared a personal reflection, stating, "It reminds me of my wife. It's important to understand why she cries and her emotions. Nothing is as difficult as childbirth and childcare. Coming to film is much easier than raising a child. As a husband, seeing my wife struggle alone with childcare made me feel apologetic and eager to go home. Husbands need to change more."

On the day of the birth, the mother was initially disappointed by her husband's indifference but was soon moved by his change of heart and affectionate gestures. After a challenging 18-hour labor, she gave birth to a healthy daughter. The couple shared a touching moment embracing their newborn and singing a birthday song. However, a video message sent to the production team at the end of the broadcast revealed that the conflict had reignited, prompting the husband to seek counseling.

In other news, an update was provided on quadruplets born prematurely. The parents, residing in Incheon, have received financial support for postnatal care, education, and medical expenses, easing their burden.
