Kim Da-young, a member of the popular K-pop group WJSN (Cosmic Girls), has achieved her first music show win with her solo debut song 'body'.

On the SBS funE program 'The Show' aired on September 23rd, Dayoung was awarded the 'The Show Choice' for her new track 'body', marking a significant milestone in her solo career.

Through her agency, Starship Entertainment, Dayoung expressed her gratitude, stating, "Every day feels like a dream thanks to everyone who loves 'body'. Receiving the 'The Show Choice' trophy feels overwhelming and incredibly thankful. I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who worked hard to help me stand as a solo artist, to my WJSN members, and most importantly, to our UJUNG (official fan club name) who waited with unwavering faith. This album's release and this #1 trophy are all thanks to you."

She continued, "I put a lot of thought into this song, which contains my story and sincerity, and I reflected a lot on the past nine years. Just as I gained confidence on stage through that process, I hope those who listen to my song can gain confidence and courage. There's so much more I want to show as 'Dayoung' in the future, so please look forward to it and join me on this new journey. Thank you!"

During the broadcast, Dayoung also gave the first performance of her B-side track 'number one rockstar'. Her powerful live vocals and dynamic choreography, utilizing props like mirrors and tables, vividly portrayed the most radiant moments on stage, achieved through years of hard work and passion.

Following this, she delivered an energetic and free-spirited performance of 'body', completing her unique narrative and leaving a lasting impression.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, WJSN members, Cravity's Seongmin (who is also an MC on The Show and from the same agency), and the dancers who performed with her made a surprise appearance during the encore stage, performing the 'body' choreography together, further amplifying the joy of her first win.

'body', the title track of Dayoung's first solo digital single 'gonna love me, right?' released on September 9th, is a song that harmonizes rhythmic beats and an addictive chorus with Dayoung's refreshing vocals. Since its release, 'body' has charted on major domestic music platforms, including Melon TOP 100, Genie, Bugs, Flo, Vibe, and YouTube Music.

The song has also garnered attention from major international media outlets such as Forbes, NME, and FOX 13 Seattle, as well as various MTV channels, expanding her global presence.

As Dayoung continues to engage with fans through short-form challenges, listening sessions, and behind-the-scenes content, fueling the excitement of her solo debut, the 'number one rockstar' performance unveiled alongside her music show win further raises anticipation for her future activities.

Dayoung debuted as a member of WJSN in 2016, where she is known for her roles as the main rapper and sub-vocalist. She made her official solo debut with her first digital single 'gonna love me, right?' on September 11, 2023. Her solo title track 'body' received significant attention, quickly climbing the charts both domestically and internationally.
