Ryu Soo-young Clarifies Recipe Error in Bestselling Cookbook, Netizens React with Laughter
Actor Ryu Soo-young, who has achieved bestseller status as an author, has addressed an error found in his cookbook, 'Ryu Soo-young's Lifetime Recipes.' The publishing house, Semicolon, has issued a correction regarding a specific ingredient measurement.
The discrepancy was in the recipe for 'Gochujang Butter Pork Ribs,' where the amount of salt was initially listed as '3 tablespoons' but has now been corrected to '3 pinches.' This revision has been implemented starting from the 18th printing of the book. Semicolon apologized for any inconvenience caused to readers and their cooking endeavors.
Ryu Soo-young shared the publisher's notice on his social media account. His fans responded with amusement, with comments like, 'The difference between 3 tablespoons and 3 pinches is huge!' and 'No wonder it tasted a bit too salty, but it was still delicious.' Others expressed surprise that the error went unnoticed for so long, with one netizen humorously noting, 'Someone must have been eating incredibly salty ribs!'.
'Ryu Soo-young's Lifetime Recipes' was published in June and quickly garnered significant popularity. Previously, on a broadcast, comedian Kim Sook estimated that Ryu Soo-young would have earned over 100 million KRW in royalties from the cookbook. Ryu Soo-young himself mentioned his meticulous preparation, stating, 'Cooking goes into our mouths, so I was meticulous because it would be embarrassing if it were wrong.' His wife, actress Park Ha-sun, reacted coolly, saying, 'I told you to write it sooner, didn't I?', which reportedly brought laughter to many. He also added that Park Ha-sun now makes his recipes for their daughter, bringing a heartwarming touch.
Ryu Soo-young has expanded his career beyond acting, showcasing his passion and talent for culinary arts. His cookbook has been a resounding success, solidifying his reputation as a bestselling author. The recent recipe clarification incident has only added to his approachable and humorous public image.
