Everland Unveils 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' Theme Zone, Igniting Fan Excitement
YONGIN, South Korea – Everland, a popular theme park, is set to launch a unique theme zone based on Netflix's hit series ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ (referred to as ‘K-DH’).
This groundbreaking event, the first of its kind globally, promises an immersive experience that vividly brings to life the captivating characters like ‘Huntrix’ and ‘Lion Boys’ and the original world of ‘K-DH’. With the official opening scheduled for the 26th, the 'K-DH' fantasy, set to unfold over approximately three months, has already sparked immense anticipation among fans.
The theme zone, sprawling across 1454㎡ within the Festival Content Zone, is meticulously designed with 14 distinct spaces. During a preview for the press, the experience zone offered a truly cinematic journey, allowing visitors to feel like protagonists from the series. It features interactive activities, exclusive merchandise, and themed food and beverages.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by a large LED screen showcasing key scenes from the series and its popular original soundtrack, setting an energetic mood. Various photo opportunities, including life-sized character cutouts and a grand art sculpture of the tiger character ‘Duffy’, await fans, promising memorable moments. Additionally, mission-based games rooted in character storylines and interactive photo zones add layers of engagement.
The ‘Huntrix’ experience zone meticulously recreates scenes from the show, allowing fans to relive moments like the demon-hunting sequence on a plane, complete with in-show snacks like kimbap and ramen. Visitors can also engage in a flight shooting game and a whack-a-mole style game to fend off spirits. In the ‘Lion Boys’ zone, fans can test their skills with a lyric-matching game involving ‘Soda Pop’ and a soul-offering ball-rolling challenge, alongside photo opportunities at the ‘Your Idol Photo Zone’.
This collaboration builds on Everland's successful history of creating themed experiences for popular Netflix content, such as ‘All of Us Are Dead’. A Netflix representative commented, “We put considerable thought into how content can transcend the screen and offer tangible experiences,” adding, “Fans of ‘K-DH’ will be able to vividly encounter their favorite characters brought to life offline.”
The culinary offerings are equally enticing. The Snack Buster restaurant has been transformed into ‘Lion Boys’ Favorite Snack Bar,’ featuring a variety of K-style snacks like ramen and kimbap. Special menu items inspired by the rival groups ‘Huntrix’ and ‘Lion Boys’, as well as ‘Soda Pop’, are available, alongside a food truck themed as a gift from the groups to their fans.
The ‘K-DH’ merchandise shop is expected to be a major draw, designed with a subway theme reminiscent of the memorable battle scenes. It will feature approximately 38 types of limited-edition goods, including character keychains, magnets, cushions, and special items like ‘Panda x Duffy’ costume dolls and ‘Duffy’ embroidered hats. A makeup booth allows visitors to get special effect makeup inspired by the series' unique patterns or don costumes of ‘Huntrix’, ‘Lion Boys’, or even a grim reaper’s robe and hat to transform into their favorite idol characters.
‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ reimagines Korean culture and K-pop with a unique premise of idols battling supernatural entities. The series features a cast of characters, each with distinct personalities and compelling backstories that have resonated deeply with its audience. This distinctive blend of fantasy and Korean pop culture has garnered a significant global following since its release on Netflix.
