A new K-pop movie, a joint production by HYBE America and Paramount Pictures, has finalized its cast and commenced principal photography.

HYBE America and Paramount Pictures announced on the 24th (US local time) that the film has officially begun shooting, starting in Seoul on the 21st. The confirmed cast includes Seong Jun, Kang So-ra, Lee Hyung-chul, Lee Ah-in, Renata Vaca, Silia Kapsis, Aliyah Turner, Kim Shana, and Park Ju-bi.

Previously, Yu Jin-young and Eric Nam were announced as leads, followed by the addition of Yoo Ji-tae, Tony Revolori, and Gia Kim earlier this month.

The movie, slated for a theatrical release on February 12, 2027, will be the first Hollywood production of its kind to be filmed entirely on location in South Korea. Filming commenced in Seoul on the 21st and will continue in various locations including Incheon, Gimpo, Paju, and Gapyeong.

The story centers on a Korean-American girl pursuing her dream of becoming a K-pop girl group member, despite her family's opposition.

Directed by Benson Lee, known for his film 'Seoul Searching,' and scripted by Eileen Shim, a co-writer of the Disney+ original series 'The Acolyte,' the film promises a fresh take on the K-pop phenomenon.

Director Benson Lee previously gained recognition in Korea with his film 'Seoul Searching.' His directorial works often explore stories that transcend cultural boundaries. This K-pop film is expected to showcase his directorial prowess once again.
