
Big Mama's Shin Yeon-ah, MeloMance's Jung Dong-hwan, EXID's Solji to Mentor Aspiring Creators
Korea's leading musicians are set to meet and inspire the next generation of creators.
Kakao Entertainment and the Kakao Creators Foundation announced that they will host the '13th Grow Up Talk & Talk' lecture event on the 26th at Dreamplus in Gangnam, Seoul. In collaboration with the Korea Music Performers Association (KOMCA), the event aims to provide practical experience and inspiration to approximately 100 aspiring creators and anyone interested in the cultural content industry. This free offline lecture program has a history of delivering valuable insights.
This year's event features three prominent artists: Shin Yeon-ah from the renowned vocal group Big Mama, Jung Dong-hwan from the popular duo MeloMance, and Solji from the acclaimed girl group EXID.
Shin Yeon-ah will speak on 'The World We Meet Through Voice,' offering realistic advice on various career paths available through music and the required skills. Jung Dong-hwan, under the theme 'How to Live as an All-Round Musician,' will share essential attitudes and approaches for aspiring songwriters, composers, and music directors, drawing from his diverse career. Solji's talk, 'Challenges and Expansion as a Player,' will focus on sharing know-how gained from her extensive experiences across K-pop, ballads, bands, trot, musicals, and academia.
The Kakao Creators Foundation is dedicated to fostering a healthy ecosystem for creators alongside Kakao Entertainment, actively supporting initiatives like indie music promotion and festival sponsorships.
Beyond her activities with Big Mama, Shin Yeon-ah has also released solo albums and provided vocal directing for junior artists. Jung Dong-hwan is recognized not only for his work with MeloMance but also for his contributions to numerous drama OSTs and film soundtracks as a music director. Since her time with EXID, Solji has continuously expanded her artistic horizons, embarking on new challenges as a solo artist, musical actress, and YouTube creator.
