Jung Hyung-don and Han Sun-hwa Join 'Jung Seung-je's Boarding House' for New Variety Show
Broadcaster Jung Hyung-don and actress Han Sun-hwa have been cast in E Channel's new variety program, 'Life Knockdown: Jung Seung-je's Boarding House' (hereinafter referred to as 'Jung Seung-je's Boarding House'), sparking anticipation.
Scheduled to premiere in November, 'Jung Seung-je's Boarding House' is a novel boarding house variety show where renowned instructor Jung Seung-je teaches life lessons to young adults, referred to as 'adult-children' (adults acting like children), who are causing concern for their parents. The boarding house is established at the earnest request of these parents.
Responding to parents' heartfelt pleas to 'raise my child properly,' Jung Seung-je will trade his blackboard for a spatula, offering sincere advice and stern warnings to the 'adult-children' boarders. The addition of veteran broadcaster Jung Hyung-don and multi-talented actress-singer Han Sun-hwa promises a fresh and exciting chemistry among the trio.
Jung Hyung-don, a broadcaster with 22 years of experience and a father of two teenage daughters, is expected to provide valuable insights based on his extensive life experiences. Leveraging his role as an MC on 'Dr. Oh's Golden Clinic,' where he has listened to numerous celebrities' concerns, he is anticipated to excel as the 'dormitory prefect.'
Han Sun-hwa, who successfully transitioned from singing to acting and has showcased her versatile charm in dramas like 'Work Later, Drink Now,' is set to approach the 'adult-children' as a relatable older sister or friend with her candid and unfiltered personality. Despite being introverted, she is expected to bring a refreshing vibe.
She is also known as a 'master of household management' and is anticipated to make the boarding house feel like her own home, hinting at her potential as a 'future proprietress.' Her adventurous spirit, encapsulated by the motto 'It doesn't matter if I can't do it; what matters is that I try,' is expected to inspire the boarders with positive energy.
The production team stated, "Jung Seung-je, Jung Hyung-don, and Han Sun-hwa are top stars in their respective fields, but they are also known for their abundant human warmth and affection." They added, "As they run the boarding house, they will offer both warm comfort and sometimes eye-opening, blunt advice to the youths at a crossroads in their lives." They also urged viewers to "look forward to whether the 'adult-children' can receive a proper life education to become true adults through this boarding house experience, as their parents wish."
'Jung Seung-je's Boarding House' is currently recruiting additional 'adult-children' boarders via the E Channel official website. Attention is focused on the 'life lessons' that Jung Seung-je, Jung Hyung-don, and Han Sun-hwa will present this November.
Jung Hyung-don debuted as a comedian in 2002 and rose to fame through popular variety shows like 'Infinite Challenge' and 'Weekly Idol'. He is currently co-hosting 'Dr. Oh's Golden Clinic,' showcasing his empathetic hosting skills. His experience raising two daughters is expected to inform his role in the new show.
