Lee Kyung-kyu Opens Up About DUI Controversy with Daughter Lee Ye-rim: 'Saw the Hill Crumble'
Comedian Lee Kyung-kyu candidly shared his feelings following the recent controversy surrounding his driving under the influence of medication, during a YouTube content session with his daughter, Lee Ye-rim.
The latest episode of the channel 'God Kyung-kyu', uploaded on the 25th, featured Lee Ye-rim preparing a birthday meal for her father. After finishing their meal, the father-daughter duo shared a relaxed conversation over canned beers.
Lee Kyung-kyu humorously referred to his daughter's past description of him as a 'supportive hill' by saying, "It seems like you'll have to lean on me now. The hill is crumbling. Did you see it this time? The hill crumbling." Lee Ye-rim wittily responded, "Only those who can handle a crumbling hill can lean on it."
Lee Kyung-kyu then touched upon the difficult period he experienced due to the DUI charges, asking Lee Ye-rim, "What did you think about me crumbling?" She confessed her anxieties at the time, saying, "Where should I live? Should I leave Korea now?" A surprised Lee Kyung-kyu expressed remorse, asking, "Why would you leave Korea when I caused the accident?" Lee Ye-rim calmly replied, "Because I leaned on that hill, we crumble together. Those who lean on it crumble with it."
Lee Kyung-kyu was previously sent to the prosecution without detention in July on charges of driving under the influence of prescribed medication. His legal representative at the time explained it was an unavoidable situation during his treatment for panic disorder and that he took full responsibility for his carelessness.
