‘Boys Planet’ Finalists Debut as 8-Member Group ALPHA DRIVE ONE (ALD1)

The final 8 contestants from Mnet's survival show ‘Boys Planet’ have officially secured their debut as an 8-member group named ‘ALPHA DRIVE ONE,’ also known as ‘ALD1.’

The successful lineup, announced on the final broadcast on the 25th, includes Kim Geon-woo, Kim Jun-seo, Lee Rio, Lee Sang-won, Zhang Hao, Zhao YouAN Xin, Jeong San-hyeon, and Hu Run Long (in alphabetical order).

The group name ‘ALPHA DRIVE ONE’ signifies a unified team driven by passion and ambition to reach the pinnacle. It can be abbreviated to ‘ALD1.’

The final 8 members were chosen through a global fan vote. A combination of the first voting round (held from April 18th to the 25th) and the second round during the live finale (where votes were counted double) determined the lineup. The voting results were weighted at 50% for Korean votes and 50% for votes from all other global regions.

Lee Sang-won clinched the first place with an impressive 7,293,777 points, maintaining his top position throughout the competition. He began his trainee journey at Big Hit Entertainment in 2016 and achieved his dream after nine years.

Zhao YouAN Xin secured the second position with 5,950,137 points. He expressed gratitude to his fans and fellow contestants for the invaluable experience.

Hu Run Long ranked third with 5,731,887 points, emotionally thanking his fans for being his guiding light.

Kim Geon-woo placed fourth with 4,854,331 points. Despite facing controversies and initial setbacks, he proved his abilities and earned his debut spot, sharing heartfelt tears with his parents and fans.

Zhang Hao followed in fifth place with 4,238,175 points, delivering his sincere thanks in somewhat hesitant Korean.

Lee Rio secured sixth place with 4,147,134 points, promising to repay fans with outstanding performances.

Jeong San-hyeon earned 3,862,466 points for seventh place, vowing to never forget this moment and continue moving forward.

Lastly, Kim Jun-seo rounded out the debut lineup at eighth place with 3,856,677 points, marking his third debut after participating in 1THE9 and WEi.

Lee Sang-won began his trainee journey at Big Hit Entertainment in 2016. After nine years as a trainee, he finally realized his dream through ‘Boys Planet.’ In his debut speech, he expressed deep gratitude and love for his fans and parents. His journey showcases a long-term commitment to his aspirations in the K-pop industry.
