Kim Gura Opens Up About His Honest Reaction to His Second Child's Arrival at 51

Veteran entertainer Kim Gura has shared his candid feelings upon welcoming his second child at the age of 51.

In a recent video uploaded to the 'Hyungsuneun K.will' YouTube channel, Kim Gura discussed his experience with late-life fatherhood. He revealed his initial hesitations and his wife's age, noting she was born in '82, making him 51 when their daughter was born.

Kim Gura admitted that he and his wife had initially agreed not to actively try for a second child, given their ages and existing family. He confessed to telling his wife, "At 50, trying to have a baby isn't easy. I want to live comfortably with you."

When his wife later revealed her pregnancy, Kim Gura responded by saying, "There's no need to apologize. It's good news." However, he also acknowledged his wife's potential desires and feelings, stating, "I'm sorry that you might not be able to have the romantic experience of parents eagerly wanting a child in their 50s, and that my reaction might not be one of tears and joy. Please understand that."

He recounted a dinner with actor Lee Byung-hun, who also had a young child, around a year after his daughter's birth. When asked about having a second child, Kim Gura's somewhat indifferent reply, "She's just cute," prompted Lee Byung-hun to comment on the missed joy of a second child. Kim Gura now acknowledges that he feels that sentiment more deeply, expressing immense affection for his daughter, with his phone gallery filled with her pictures.

While his wife primarily handles the childcare, Kim Gura emphasized his active participation in household chores, including grocery shopping and cooking, stating he doesn't shy away from responsibilities. He finds a sense of stability and comfort in his family life, noting improved interactions with his son, Dong-hyun.

Regarding a third child, Kim Gura definitively stated it's unlikely, citing his and his wife's ages and their current contentment with their four-year-old daughter.

Born in 1969, Kim Gura remarried a woman 12 years his junior on December 18, 2015, and welcomed their daughter in September 2021 at the age of 51. His eldest son, Dong-hyun (MC G Reaper), is from his first marriage. Kim Gura is widely loved for his witty remarks and unique humor on numerous entertainment shows.
