R&B-Trot Queen Lyn Embarks on First Music Show MC Role in 'Hanil Top Ten Show' Season 2
Lyn, the queen of R&B and trot, is set to make her debut as a music show MC after 25 years in the industry, taking on the role for MBN's 'Hanil Top Ten Show' Season 2.
'Hanil Top Ten Show' Season 2 is a unique chart show where top active singers from Korea and Japan, who previously competed in the '2025 Han-Il King of Singers' competition, engage in an unlimited song battle using beloved tracks from both nations. Viewers play a crucial role, with achieved view counts determining rewards: a Silver Mic for reaching 1 million views and a Gold Mic for 5 million views, earning a spot on the 'Hall of Fame'.
Lyn, who has expanded her musical horizons from R&B to trot since her appearance on 'Hyunyeok GaWang' Season 1, will now join forces with Kangnam as a co-MC. Her established presence and diverse musical capabilities are expected to add significant fire to the high-quality music competition between Korean and Japanese artists.
"It's been 25 years since I started in music, but every moment excites me. From ballads and R&B to trot, I feel immense happiness doing the music I love," Lyn shared. "As this broadcast presents masterpieces from both Korea and Japan, I've always cherished and prepared each stage meticulously as a singer. Now, as an MC, I will take on more responsibility to prepare wonderful stages with the best artists."
The lineup for Season 2 includes Korea's TOP7: Park Seo-jin, Jin Hae-seong, Eun-seong, Shin Seung-tae, Kim Jun-su, and Choi Su-ho, along with Hwang Min-ho, who surprised Japanese teams during the '2025 Han-Il King of Singers' special match, securing a spot as a regular cast member. Japan's TOP7 features Yudai, who ignites J-pop fever in Korea, and Masaya, dubbed the 'second Rie,' alongside Takuya, Juni, Shu, and Shin, promising an even more powerful stage that transcends borders and genres. Yudai expressed his excitement, stating, "I will show even more amazing performances on 'Hanil Top Ten Show'. I love Korea."
The production team commented, "With the addition of new faces like Lyn, who excels in both R&B and trot, and Yudai, who is fanning the flames of the J-pop craze, viewers will experience an even more upgraded 'Hanil Top Ten Show'."
'Hanil Top Ten Show' Season 2 kicks off its official song chart battle with a gathering of active singers from the '2025 Han-Il King of Singers' competition, held in Japan on October 14 (Tuesday).
Lyn debuted in 2001 and has since released numerous hits like 'Saranghaetnawa' and 'Jagiya, There's No Tomorrow', establishing herself as the queen of R&B ballads. She has recently expanded her musical spectrum by exploring the trot genre. News of her divorce from Lee Soo was officially announced last month.
