Kai's Professor Life Revealed on 'I Live Alone': From Stage Charisma to Campus Charm
Crossover singer and musical actor Kai has captured attention by unveiling his unexpected daily life as a university professor on the MBC show 'I Live Alone'.
During the broadcast on the 26th, Kai revealed his current position as a professor in the Musical Theatre program at Handong University's Department of Performing Arts. He shared that he is in his fifth year as a professor, with two of those years as a full-time faculty member.
The episode showed a different side of Kai, who, while on stage exudes immense charisma, was seen enjoying his favorite pork cutlet set at the school cafeteria, and nervously volunteering to be in charge of coffee during a faculty meeting. His candid moments even drew humorous comparisons from Code Kunst and Park Na-rae, who likened him to characters from sitcoms.
However, in front of his students, Kai transformed into a charismatic educator. He guided graduating seniors in a specialized practical course, offering one-on-one coaching and in-depth vocal lessons. Despite using unique metaphors that sometimes baffled the MCs, his students listened intently, deeply impressed by his expertise.
Kai also experienced a lighthearted moment of embarrassment when a student presented sheet music for a musical he starred in, but in a version by another actor, Park Hyo-shin. He is scheduled to meet fans on November 2nd at the Chungmu Art Center Grand Theater for 'The Moment : Live on Melon - Kai' and will return to the stage in December with the musical 'A Man in Hanbok'.
Kai, a versatile artist, balances his demanding performance schedule with his dedication to nurturing young talent. His passion for music education extends beyond the stage, aiming to inspire the next generation of performers. This dual role highlights his commitment to the arts in various capacities.
