SHINee's Key Successfully Concludes 'Uncanny Valley' Seoul Concert, Kicks Off New Tour with Global Fanbase
SHINee member Key has successfully wrapped up his Seoul concert, marking a spectacular launch for his new world tour.
From May 26th to 28th, Key held '2025 KEYLAND : Uncanny Valley' at the Ticketlink Live Arena (formerly Olympic Hall Gymnastics Stadium) in Seoul Olympic Park. The concerts on the 27th and 28th were also simultaneously broadcast online via global platforms Beyond LIVE and Weverse, connecting with fans worldwide, including those in the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore.
This concert, themed around the concept of confronting 'another self' from his 3rd full album 'HUNTER,' explored the phenomenon known as the 'Uncanny Valley,' where near-human resemblances evoke unsettling feelings. The performance was a meticulously crafted 'art performance' that blended unique stage elements like fragmented LED walls, geometric structures, VCR footage featuring Key as a virtual artist, and surreal, conceptual costumes. These visual elements, twisting the familiar into the unfamiliar, were brought to life by the dynamic live band session and Key's distinct musical universe.
Key kicked off the show with a powerful opening on a spaceship-shaped moving ring truss (a device capable of vertical movement and boarding via kinetic motors), performing 'Strange,' perfectly aligning with the concert's theme. He immediately captivated the audience with performances of 'Helium,' 'CoolAs,' and 'Want Another.' He then delivered stages filled with explosive energy, including 'HUNTER,' 'Trap,' 'Killer,' 'Heartless,' 'Gasoline,' and 'BAD LOVE,' followed by stages showcasing his diverse vocal charm with songs like 'Infatuation,' 'Picture Frame,' and 'Novacaine.'
In a particularly touching moment during the encore, Key performed 'Lavender Love,' a song expressing gratitude to his fans who have always been a source of strength. He amplified the poignant and overwhelming emotions by incorporating lavender-colored confetti and scents. Moved to tears by the fans' chorus singalong, he created an even more emotional experience. The concert concluded with electrifying performances of 'GLAM' and 'This Life,' the latter carrying a message of enjoying the present moment, further igniting the venue's passion.
Reflecting on the successful conclusion of the Seoul concert, the starting point of this year's tour, Key recalled his previous encore concert, '2024 KEYLAND ON : AND ON.' He shared, "I thought no concert among my solo shows could surpass that one, but during the last encore concert, I realized it depends on us. I will continue to present better performances and albums that surpass the present. Please cherish today's memories and unfold them as your beautiful memories next time," a sentiment that was met with enthusiastic applause.
Key will continue his tour in Taipei on October 4th, Singapore on the 18th, Macau on November 16th, Tokyo on the 29th-30th, and then move to North America, with dates in Los Angeles on December 3rd, Oakland on the 5th, Dallas-Fort Worth on the 8th, Brooklyn on the 10th, Chicago on the 13th, and Seattle on the 15th (all local times).
Korean netizens are showering the concert with praise, commenting things like 'Key's concert quality is insane,' 'As expected, Key is Key,' and 'This tour is the best ever.' Many also expressed high satisfaction with comments such as 'The Uncanny Valley concept was perfectly executed' and 'Looking forward to the next city tour.'
