Girl band QWER member Shyeon has strongly responded to hateful comments received amidst a controversy over alleged similarities between their official fanlight and that of boy group THE BOYZ.

QWER is currently embroiled in a dispute after their recently unveiled official fanlight was pointed out for its resemblance to THE BOYZ's fanlight, which has been in use since 2021. THE BOYZ's agency stated they had requested design modifications but failed to reach an agreement, announcing legal action to prevent recurrence. QWER's side expressed regret, asserting they have received expert opinions confirming no copyright infringement.

Amidst this, Shyeon addressed the malicious commenters through her social media. She provocatively stated, "To those who come to my Instagram and say unspeakable things? Do more. Thank you for filling my dopamine. The more you do, the more I want to rise. Thank you. Sleep well, my driving forces."

Shyeon further elaborated, "Sorry for having to say what I think. I'll get scolded again. Sorry. But I have to say it. No matter how anonymous cyberspace is, I don't think it's right for humans to launch baseless and groundless personal attacks on other humans," adding, "There must be reasons, twisted circumstances, but what you inflict on others will return to you."

While the Korea Entertainment Producer's Association (KEPA) has stepped in to mediate, QWER has proceeded with announcements regarding the sale of merchandise including the fanlight.

Korean netizens reacted with comments like "Shyeon's statement is cool," "The artists are suffering because of haters," and "The company's response is disappointing," showing support for Shyeon or expressing regret about the company's handling of the situation.
