The K-Pop boy group scene is in upheaval, with a new generation of artists challenging the established order.

Following the global dominance of BTS and the continued strength of Seventeen, a new wave of groups is vying for the top spot. While Stray Kids continues to expand its influence, the steady progress of their juniors is also remarkable. Who will emerge as the new leader in this 'Spring and Autumn period' of boy groups?

Stray Kids has already secured a strong global foothold. Their fourth full album ‘KARMA,’ released last August, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, marking their seventh consecutive album to top the prestigious chart. Their concerts have also grown in scale, leading to stadium tours that showcase their expanding reach.

ENHYPEN and TOMORROW X TOGETHER are also showing formidable momentum. ENHYPEN has been selling out shows across Asia, the U.S., and Europe, successfully completing stadium and dome tours.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER, following their European tour, is currently captivating audiences in the Americas. All three groups have built robust global fandoms, boasting numerous music videos with billions of views on YouTube and tens of millions of streams on Spotify.

The next generation of boy groups is rapidly catching up to their seniors. Boynextdoor, in particular, has seen significant growth, attracting a large domestic fanbase with their free-spirited energy and relatable charm since their debut.

Their digital single ‘One and Only,’ released earlier this year, performed exceptionally well on music charts, challenging the perception that boy groups struggle with digital single performance compared to album sales. Their reputation as talented idols committed to using handheld microphones has also resonated with international fans.

Consequently, they have been able to tour rapidly among groups that debuted around the same time and achieved the feat of performing at Lollapalooza Chicago in the U.S. All their mini-albums released to date have entered the Billboard 200, indicating significant popularity in North America and Japan.

RIZE immediately captured attention upon debut with their striking visuals and addictive music. Last year, they expanded their listener base with ‘LOVE 119,’ which sampled the hit song ‘Emergency Room’ by izi. They are steadily building their presence overseas as well.

They have announced a performance at the Tokyo Dome in Japan for February next year, setting a new record as the fastest K-pop boy group to achieve this milestone, approximately 2 years and 5 months after their debut. With their first world tour currently underway, they are expected to further solidify their fandom.

Debut groups are also making their mark. ZEROBASEONE, who debuted in August, benefited from being positioned as a junior group to BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, quickly capturing the attention of global fans.

They have gained traction through word-of-mouth for their outstanding creative abilities and live performance skills. They are the first group to debut this year to enter the Billboard 200 and have surpassed 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify (as of September 29th), demonstrating impressive growth.

APPLIAZ, formed through Mnet's 'Boys Planet 2,' is also emerging as a dark horse. Their official social media account garnered 1 million followers within just two days of its creation, suggesting explosive growth potential backed by a strong fanbase, characteristic of survival show participants.

Netizens are actively discussing the evolving K-Pop landscape. Comments include 'Stray Kids is amazing, but I'm really excited about the new groups,' 'Boynextdoor, RIIZE, and ZEROBASEONE are all doing so well, making me curious about the future,' and 'The golden age of K-Pop boy groups will continue!' reflecting strong interest in the market.
