Kim Nam-joo Recalls First Modeling Days in Namdaemun: 'It Was Happy'

Actress Kim Nam-joo reminisced about her early days as a model in Namdaemun, sharing fond memories of a time filled with happiness.

During the filming of the 19th episode of the SBS Life entertainment show 'Queen of Style,' Kim Nam-joo embarked on a tour of Namdaemun Market. As she explored the area, she remarked, "Coming back to Namdaemun after so long brings back old memories. I started my modeling career here as a clothing model."

Recalling the past, Kim Nam-joo shared, "In the clothing stores within Namdaemun, they used to display photos of models who had done shoots. A shopkeeper immediately chose me, and I took the picture then."

She added, "After shoots, I had to take a train to Pyeongtaek. Eating a hamburger while waiting for the train was all I needed to feel happy. It was a busy life, but a truly happy time."

Kim Nam-joo chuckled as she said, "My mom was very proud, and I worked really hard. There might even be photos from my Namdaemun market catalog shoots at my mom's house. Mothers tend to keep everything, don't they?"
