Kim Min-kyu Shares Heartwarming Stories from 'For the Love of First Love' Set, Praises Park Hae-joon's Mentorship

Actor Kim Min-kyu has revealed the warm atmosphere on the set of tvN's drama 'For the Love of First Love,' sharing touching anecdotes about his interactions with senior actors.

Kim Min-kyu, who plays the role of Bo-hyeon, a character running a flower garden in Cheonghae village, has captured viewers' attention with his bright and sunny charm. He particularly spoke highly of his experience working with Park Hae-joon, who portrays his father, Jeong-seok.

"We often had to stay overnight for provincial shoots," Kim Min-kyu recalled. "One day, I felt troubled about my acting and called Park Hae-joon senior. The directors also suggested I seek advice from him. He invited me to the accommodation after work."

He continued, "He bought me drinks, helped me go over the script, and offered great advice, telling me to 'just do it' and 'not overthink it.' His support was incredibly encouraging." Kim Min-kyu also mentioned the general on-set vibe: "The senior actors were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable. We even filmed many Reels during breaks. The seniors often took the initiative, and we had fun exchanging ideas in our group chat." He added that Kim Seon-young even took on directing duties towards the end of filming.

Furthermore, Kim Min-kyu shared pleasant memories involving Yum Jung-ah and Kim Seon-young. "Yum Jung-ah senior brought us sikhye (a sweet rice drink), which I enjoyed very much and even bragged about to my mom," he said with a smile. "Kim Seon-young senior, though seemingly a bit tsundere, always took good care of me. It was a joy to film with her, Yum Jung-ah senior, and Park Hae-joon senior."

Kim Min-kyu debuted in the web drama 'Love Playlist Season 3' in 2019.

He has showcased distinctive acting in various productions such as 'A Business Proposal' and 'Young Lady and Gentleman.'
