Ok Joo-hyun, a former member of the iconic girl group Fin.K.L and a prominent musical actress, is embroiled in controversy over allegations of illegal operations by her agency.

Reports emerged on the morning of the 10th, claiming that her agency, TOI Entertainment, is operating without proper registration as a cultural and artistic planning business. Ok Joo-hyun established her one-person agency in April 2022, and it's known that her close junior, musical actress Lee Ji-hye, is also affiliated with TOI Entertainment.

According to the Act on the Promotion of Cultural and Artistic Industries, entertainers operating as individual businesses with one or more employees must register as cultural and artistic planning entities for their commercial activities. Failure to comply can result in imprisonment of up to two years or a fine of up to 20 million won. Any business activities, including contract signings, conducted under an unregistered status are considered illegal and can lead to business suspension and criminal penalties.

Despite these potential issues, Ok Joo-hyun has been consistently active in numerous musicals without significant breaks. She is currently performing in 'Marie Curie' and is scheduled to appear in 'Red Book,' which premieres on the 23rd. A representative from 'Marie Curie' cautiously stated to OSEN, "As Ok Joo-hyun is the representative of her agency, communication has been through intermediaries. We will confirm the details and provide a response."

Ok Joo-hyun debuted in 1998 as the main vocalist of the legendary girl group Fin.K.L, achieving immense popularity. She later transitioned to musical theater, starring in hit productions such as 'Cats,' 'Elizabeth,' and 'Rebecca,' establishing herself as a leading star in the Korean musical scene. Her exceptional vocal and acting skills have earned her the title 'Queen of Musicals.'
