The film 'Face' has stormed to the top of the box office on its opening day, signaling a massive hit. The movie, which follows a blind craftsman and his son as they unravel a 40-year-old mystery surrounding his mother's death, has already garnered significant international acclaim following its world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival.

According to data from the Korean Film Council's Integrated Network, 'Face' attracted 35,019 viewers on September 11th, dethroning 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train', which had held the top spot since its August 22nd release. This swift takeover of the box office after 21 days has captured considerable attention, leaving audiences eager to see its future performance.

Beyond its opening day triumph, 'Face' is receiving rave reviews for the powerful performances of its cast, including Park Jung-min, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-been, Im Sung-jae, and Han Ji-hyun, coupled with its suspenseful narrative. Park Jung-min's acting has been particularly lauded as a 'performance magic show', with the film's intricate mystery drawing viewers in and creating a deeply engaging experience. Positive word-of-mouth from viewers is expected to further fuel its box office success.

Notably, 'Face' was produced on a modest budget of 200 million KRW, making it a low-budget commercial film. The fact that lead actor Park Jung-min and others participated without salaries highlights their strong commitment to the project's artistic merit.

Park Jung-min, who debuted in the 2011 film 'Bleak Night', quickly gained recognition by winning the Blue Dragon Film Award for Best New Actor. He has since established himself as a leading actor in Korean cinema by showcasing his diverse acting range in films across various genres such as 'Dongju; The Portrait of a Poet', 'Keys to the Heart', 'Time to Hunt', and 'Deliver Us from Evil'. Beyond his acting career, he is also actively engaged in other ventures, including publishing books.
