YouTuber Oking Announces Return to YouTube After 1 Year and 4 Months Amid 'Scam Coin' Controversy
Popular YouTuber Oking has announced his intention to resume activities on his YouTube channel after a hiatus of approximately one year and four months, following the 'scam coin' controversy.
In a lengthy post shared on his 'OkingTV' channel on the 11th, Oking stated, "It's already been two months since I restarted my live broadcasts. I am well aware that my return to activities on any platform might be perceived negatively by many. Nevertheless, despite my embarrassment, I intend to gradually resume operating my YouTube channel."
Oking had previously begun streaming on the platform Chzzk two months ago, and this move signifies a full return to content creation. He expressed caution about the potential discomfort some viewers might feel, acknowledging that YouTube's algorithm can expose his content to individuals who may not wish to see it, unlike live broadcasts where viewers actively seek him out.
He further elaborated, "I understand that I cannot satisfy everyone – those who have patiently waited, those who express their thoughts with honest criticism but still tune in, and even those who still view me with discomfort due to my past mistakes. However, my sincere desire is to bring laughter to those who watch my videos as a YouTuber once again."
Reflecting on his past, Oking admitted to becoming desensitized to the immense love and happiness he experienced, leading to choices that deeply disappointed many. He specifically addressed the fans who trusted and supported him, stating his personal ambition to make them smile again as the driving force behind his YouTube return. "If even one person wishes to enjoy my broadcasts and videos, I want to bravely give my all once more," he declared.
Concluding his message, Oking vowed not to repeat past mistakes and pledged to continuously strive to become a better person. "Once again, I sincerely apologize to everyone I have deeply disappointed with my wrong choices and mistakes. I will humbly accept all criticism," he added.
Oking became embroiled in a 'scam coin' controversy in early 2023, drawing significant public criticism.
It was later revealed he was listed as a director for a related company, admitting his involvement and apologizing, but failed to sway public opinion.
He subsequently faced accusations of staging incidents like breathing difficulties during live streams and spoilers for the Netflix show 'The Influencer', leading to a temporary suspension of his YouTube channel.
