JTBC's new weekend drama, '100 Million Stars,' is set to premiere today, the 13th, transporting viewers to the vibrant 1980s. The series promises a heartfelt tale of youth, focusing on the blossoming friendship between bus conductorettes Young-rye (played by Kim Da-mi) and Jong-hee (Shin Ye-eun), and their intertwined first love with Jae-pil (Heo Nam-joon).

Ahead of the premiere, a press conference revealed the deep bond between the lead actresses. Kim Da-mi shared, "While acting as Young-rye and Jong-hee, we truly permeated each other's characters," with Shin Ye-eun adding, "I've grown to cherish and feel a deep affection for Da-mi unnie." This on-screen synergy is expected to translate into compelling performances as they navigate their roles as colleagues and best friends, supporting each other's dreams and daily lives.

The narrative takes a turn with the introduction of Han Jae-pil, creating a delicate emotional triangle. Young-rye finds herself drawn to Jae-pil, while Jong-hee observes her friend's budding feelings with a mix of support and internal conflict. Writer Yang Hee-seung explained, "I wanted to portray the profound female friendships that are never taken lightly. I utilized the keyword 'first love' because it's a universally intense and memorable experience." She continued, "Fate conspires, causing their love interests to overlap, but I hoped that through these trials, Young-rye and Jong-hee would demonstrate the depth and growth of their relationship."

Preview stills offer a glimpse into a pivotal early encounter. In a scene set against a backdrop of red seats and curtains, Jae-pil urgently silences both Young-rye and Jong-hee, a gesture that heightens the intrigue. The shared glances create an atmosphere charged with both tension and anticipation. Young-rye, who had previously been searching for Jae-pil after he rescued her from danger, appears particularly flustered, hinting at the complex dynamics to come.

The production team urged viewers to tune in, stating, "Today's premiere marks the beginning of the fated narrative for Young-rye, Jong-hee, and Jae-pil. Their chance encounter in the theater is the starting signal." They encouraged audiences to witness the events that lead to this unexpected meeting and the changes it ignites. '100 Million Stars' airs every Saturday at 10:40 PM KST on JTBC.

Kim Da-mi made her acting debut in the 2018 film 'The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion,' leaving a strong impression with her performance. She has since showcased a diverse acting range in dramas like 'Itaewon Class' and 'Our Beloved Summer,' excelling in various genres from romance to thrillers. Her nuanced emotional portrayals and unique aura have established her as a must-watch actress in both film and television.
