Kim Ji-yeon, who gained significant popularity through the reality show 'Heart Signal 4', has shared unexpected news about her health, causing concern among her fans.

In a recent YouTube video uploaded on the 13th titled 'There are days for crying, after all,' Kim Ji-yeon revealed her ongoing battle with a medical condition during a visit to a university hospital. She directly disclosed, "I am a young glaucoma patient."

She shared her candid feelings, stating, "Although it was caught in the early stages and is currently well-managed, I feel nervous and scared every time I visit the hospital. I have check-ups every six months, and thankfully, my professor is very kind, which puts my mind at ease." Kim Ji-yeon also confessed her anxiety, "I'm always trembling, worried that the condition might have progressed." Her doctor reassured her, however, stating that her condition has not worsened since her initial diagnosis.

Kim Ji-yeon explained the challenges of her treatment, noting, "Damage is occurring from the periphery of my vision. My top priority is to protect the central vision, as any damage there would significantly impact my daily life." She also touched upon the genetic factors of glaucoma, expressing concern for her family by asking, "Is Dad's eyesight okay?"

Previously, Kim Ji-yeon garnered immense popularity after appearing on Channel A's 'Heart Signal Season 4,' even winning first place in the season's popularity poll.
