Jung Woo-sung to Appear at Buil Film Awards Hand-Printing Event Amid Personal Matters

Actor Jung Woo-sung is set to make his first official public appearance following reports concerning his child with model Moon Ga-by.

He is scheduled to attend the Buil Film Awards hand-printing ceremony today, the 18th. This pre-ceremony event gathers last year's award recipients.

Past winners, including Best Actor Jung Woo-sung, Kim Geum-soon (Best Actress), Lim Ji-yeon (Best Supporting Actress), Lee Joon-hyuk (Star of the Year/Male), Shin Hye-sun (Star of the Year/Female), Kim Young-sung (Rookie Award/Male), and Jung Soo-jung (Rookie Award/Female), are expected to grace the occasion. The event also includes a red carpet for film industry professionals who have contributed to cinema over the past year, drawing significant attention.

There is particular interest in whether Jung Woo-sung will also walk the red carpet in addition to participating in the hand-printing ceremony.

Last November, Jung acknowledged reports identifying him as the biological father of the child born to model Moon Ga-by. At the time, his agency stated, "The child revealed by Ms. Moon Ga-by on social media is indeed actor Jung Woo-sung's biological son," and "He will do his best for the child as a father." However, the two have not married, choosing to remain as parents rather than spouses. Moon Ga-by later clarified on social media, "I have not met the father of my child even once since a certain day in January 2024, nor have I ever asked him for marriage or anything else because of my pregnancy."

Approximately eight months later, in August, news emerged that Jung had registered his marriage with a long-time girlfriend. His agency responded by stating, "Regarding the reports of actor Jung Woo-sung's marriage registration, we ask for your understanding as this is a private matter and difficult to provide an official statement." They also requested, "Please refrain from excessive attention and speculation." The lack of denial was widely interpreted as an implicit confirmation.

On the 4th, Jung's agency announced an advertising contract with Bithumb, signaling a return to public activities. This upcoming Buil Film Awards event marks his first formal appearance, drawing considerable public attention.
