Actress Lee Young-ae has shed light on the severe realities of drug abuse through the KBS 1TV special documentary, 'Lee Young-ae's Tracking 60 Minutes'.

Experts featured in the broadcast defined drug addiction as a brain disorder requiring mandatory treatment. Lee Young-ae, in her narration, pointed out, "Even a single exposure causes the brain to react to pleasure, which is a serious problem."

Specialists emphasized that drug addiction is a chronic condition prone to relapse, explaining its destructive impact by stimulating the brain's reward system. The head of the Drug Control Center warned, "Beyond the momentary euphoria lies the destruction of dopamine production pathways and the greater issue of inducing mental illness."

Addressing the myth of 'soft drugs' spreading among youth, Lee Young-ae declared them a non-existent illusion, highlighting their unpredictable, strong addictiveness and side effects due to mixed synthetic compounds. Those who successfully abstained for a year and left the rehabilitation center reflected on their past actions and vowed to remain drug-free.
