Actress Lee Min-jung has addressed a recent controversy surrounding a photo posted during her attendance at the Venice Film Festival. The image sparked accusations of blasphemy.

The photograph, shared on Lee Min-jung's social media, was taken while she accompanied her husband, Lee Byung-hun, for his film 'Emergency Declaration.' The picture featured her holding a luxury bag with a cross in the background, appearing to be in a church altar setting.

Following the post, netizens criticized the actress for seemingly promoting a luxury item in a sacred space. In response, Lee Min-jung edited the original post and clarified that the location was "not a church, but a venue and restaurant used by a hotel, renovated from a hundreds-of-years-old former church building."

She further apologized for any discomfort caused, stating, "Although I am a devout Christian and not a Catholic, I apologize if I caused discomfort by taking a photo in what appeared to be an altar. I will be more careful and considerate in the future."

Lee Min-jung debuted in 2009 with the drama 'Boys Over Flowers,' quickly gaining widespread popularity.

She married actor Lee Byung-hun in 2013 and they have one son together.

She is beloved for her stable acting performances across various dramas and films.
