DJ Koo's Wife Hsu Chi-yuan's Lawyer Vows Strong Action Against Defamation Rumors

Seven months after the passing of Taiwanese actress Hsu Chi-yuan, wife of DJ Koo, rumors and false information continue to spread online. Her legal representative, lawyer Deng Gao-jing, has officially addressed these malicious claims circulating on Chinese social media, vowing a firm response.

Deng stated that accusations such as "I was not authorized by Hsu Chi-yuan's family" or "the case has already been ruled on" are entirely false. He confirmed that Hsu Chi-yuan had entrusted him with three lawsuits during her lifetime: a defamation suit against her ex-mother-in-law, Zhang Lan, and TikTok; an online rights infringement suit against her ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei; and a criminal defamation complaint against Zhang Lan. The defamation case involving Zhang Lan and TikTok is being continued with formal authorization from DJ Koo and Hsu Chi-yuan's mother, with all documentation submitted to the Beijing court.

Furthermore, Deng vehemently denied rumors about DNA or abortion evidence surfacing during the trial, calling them "complete fabrications." He revealed that Zhang Lan has been ordered by the court not to mention Hsu Chi-yuan's private life online but has failed to comply, leading to an application for enforcement. The lawyer emphasized Hsu Chi-yuan was a kind and brave woman whose honor deserved respect, and promised to fight against malicious slander through all available legal avenues.

DJ Koo, a prominent South Korean DJ, rekindled his romance with Taiwanese actress Hsu Chi-yuan in 2021, years after their initial relationship in the 1990s, and they married in 2022, grabbing headlines worldwide. Sadly, Hsu Chi-yuan passed away unexpectedly on February 2nd after contracting influenza with pneumonia during a family trip to Japan. DJ Koo is reportedly visiting her resting place at the Chin Pao San Cemetery in Taiwan every day.
