Actress Lee Young-ae Makes Rare Variety Show Appearance on 'Immortal Songs' After 30 Years

National treasure actress Lee Young-ae is set to grace the KBS2 stage for the first time in her career on the popular music show 'Immortal Songs.' The program, which has consistently held the top viewership ratings in its time slot for nearly 14 years, will feature a special episode titled 'Actress Lee Young-ae, Immortal Masterpieces' on Saturday, the 13th.

This marks Lee Young-ae's first venture into KBS variety entertainment in three decades. Having debuted as a commercial model in the 1990s, she rose to global fame with the drama 'Dae Jang Geum' and solidified her status as a representative Korean actress with her transformative role in the film 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.' She expressed her long-standing affection for 'Immortal Songs,' calling it a program her entire family enjoys watching.

During the recording, Lee Young-ae playfully revisited her iconic catchphrase, "You mind your own business," giving it a 2025 twist that reportedly had the studio in stitches. Furthermore, she confessed to practicing singing for the special, only to have her voice become hoarse, humorously remarking that being a singer is not easy and she'll stick to listening to music from now on. She is said to have shyly performed a song she practiced, captivating the audience.

The special will feature performances by six diverse artists: Hong Kyung-min, Cha Ji-yeon & Kim Da-hyun, Yuk Joong-wan Band, Forestella, W24, and STAYC. Each group has prepared a unique rendition of songs inspired by or dedicated to the esteemed actress, promising a night of incredible music and heartfelt tributes.
