Following composer Kim Hyung-seok, renowned songwriter Yoon Il-sang has voiced pointed criticism regarding singer Yoo Seung-jun's controversial actions and current situation.

In a recent YouTube video on his channel 'Producer Yoon Il-sang,' Yoon shared behind-the-scenes stories from Yoo's debut era and offered his candid thoughts on the military service evasion controversy. He recalled writing Yoo's debut song 'I Love You, Sister,' which was later renamed 'Scissor' due to broadcasting restrictions. Yoon described Yoo's stage presence, dance, and performance as overwhelming, comparable to a young G-Dragon's popularity.

However, Yoon suggested that Yoo's heart was more inclined towards the United States than Korea, viewing the latter primarily as a business platform. "It seems he believed America was where he would return," Yoon commented, suggesting this mindset led to his "difficult to understand" choices.

Yoon particularly emphasized Yoo's failure to keep his promises to the public. "If you can't keep a promise made in front of the public, you should apologize endlessly. An apology should continue until the other party accepts it, but Yoo hasn't even begun a genuine apology," Yoon stated critically. He added, "Personally, I don't hate him, but as entertainer Yoo Seung-jun, he was clearly wrong. Everyone makes mistakes, but what matters is the attitude afterward."

Yoo Seung-jun, who debuted in 1997, gained massive popularity with hits like 'Nananana' and 'Passion.' However, after renouncing his Korean citizenship for U.S. citizenship in 2002, he was exempted from mandatory military service and subsequently banned from entering South Korea, a situation that has persisted for over two decades.

Yoon Il-sang is a highly acclaimed South Korean composer and music producer, known for crafting numerous hit songs for top artists since the 1990s. He has been instrumental in shaping the K-pop sound and continues to be an influential figure in the music industry. His recent public commentary on Yoo Seung-jun has drawn attention to his long and impactful career.
