Global superstar BTS member V continues to garner immense popularity, even within Japan's traditional performing arts scene. Ichikawa Danko, a rising star in the Japanese Kabuki world, recently revealed his unwavering admiration for V in an interview.

When asked about his current favorite, Danko promptly responded, “I continue to like V of BTS,” publicly expressing his fan sentiment. He explained that he finds similarities between V's dance movements and Kabuki, noting the dynamic power and rhythmic variations that are “like waves crashing.”

This is not the first time Danko has shown his fondness for V. Back in 2020, at the age of 16, he mentioned in an interview with Japanese media outlet Natalie, “BTS! I learned the dance for V’s part in ‘DNA’ during this social distancing period. I like V.” His consistent interest over the past five years has now been reaffirmed.

Kabuki holds significant cultural prestige in Japan, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Ichikawa Danko, an heir to a prestigious Kabuki lineage, is particularly special, often referred to as the ‘Prince of Kabuki.’ His public declaration of continued affection for global K-pop icon V is creating quite a buzz in Japan.

V, affectionately known as ‘TaeTae’ in Japan, is a sought-after icon for people of all ages and genders. Young Japanese men are increasingly emulating his style, and celebrities from politics, business, arts, and sports also frequently name V as their ‘ultimate favorite.’ Recently, actor Okabe Takashi garnered attention by mimicking V’s signature pose during a ceremonial first pitch at a professional baseball game.

V released his solo album 'Layover,' showcasing a diverse range of charms. His captivating visuals and musical talent have won over fans worldwide. His stage presence exudes an overwhelming charisma.
