Lee Byung-hun Reveals Special Connection with Son Ye-jin: "It Was Comfortable Because She's Friends With My Wife"

Actor Lee Byung-hun has shared a special connection he has with actress Son Ye-jin, with whom he stars in the film 'Unpredictable'.

The 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) hosted an open talk event for 'Unpredictable' on the 18th at the Busan Cinema Center.

Regarding his role as Son Ye-jin's husband in the film, Lee Byung-hun commented, "Son Ye-jin is a long-time friend of my wife (Lee Min-jung), and we even have dinners and play golf together as couples." He added, "Because of this, I didn't feel like it was our first time working together."

He further explained the filming atmosphere, stating, "The time to get to know each other was skipped, making it a case where we could film comfortably."

'Unpredictable' (directed by Park Chan-wook) tells the story of 'Man-su' (Lee Byung-hun), a white-collar worker who felt his life was satisfying until he was suddenly fired. The film follows his personal battle to re-employment, striving to protect his wife, two children, and the house he finally managed to purchase.

The film has also been invited to the competition section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and marks Park Chan-wook's first work in three years since 'Decision to Leave'. Besides Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin, the cast includes Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Hee-soon, and Cha Seung-won.

Lee Byung-hun made his acting debut in the 1991 KBS drama 'Sanullim', launching a career that spans decades. He is renowned for his versatility, having achieved critical acclaim both in South Korea and through his successful Hollywood filmography. He is known to prioritize his family relationships and consistently engages with his fans.
