Moon Ga-young to Host Mnet's 'STEAL HEART CLUB': 'I've Loved Band Music Since Middle School'

Actress Moon Ga-young has shared her excitement about taking on the role of MC for Mnet's global band-making survival show, 'STEAL HEART CLUB'.

On the 18th, Mnet released Moon Ga-young's candid thoughts on becoming the MC, alongside a profile photo exuding the show's intense energy. In the revealed photos, Moon Ga-young captivates with her sharp gaze and confident pose, showcasing her presence not just as a host but as a 'band curator' set to guide the contestants' journey.

Moon Ga-young expressed her feelings about joining the program, stating, "New challenges always bring excitement. I'm incredibly happy to be able to experience band music, which I enjoy listening to, up close and introduce it myself." She added, "I've often spoken about my love for band music, so when this opportunity arose, I was met with great surprise and joy. I wanted to be a part of it without hesitation."

She further revealed her deep affection for band music. "I've been listening to band music frequently since middle school. It wasn't for any particular reason, but the rich sound created by the harmonious blend of various instruments made my heart race," she explained. "I enjoy listening to a song repeatedly, focusing on each instrument like the drums and bass. The charm of band music lies in the power of small sounds coming together to fill a space."

Regarding the unique appeal of 'STEAL HEART CLUB,' she highlighted, "Even if they aren't perfect, their passion and sincerity come together to create lovable and surprising stages." Reflecting on the first recording, she mentioned, "The audience's passionate energy made the set even more vibrant. I could feel the contestants' trembling and earnestness, which made me root for all of them."

Finally, Moon Ga-young urged viewers, "People who genuinely love music, especially band music, have gathered to create passionate stages. I hope that energy is conveyed to the audience, and please enjoy this journey with us."

Meanwhile, Mnet's 'STEAL HEART CLUB' is a global band-making project where contestants from various band positions—drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, and vocals—compete to become the 'Ultimate Headliner Band' using their unique music, emotions, and vibrant youth as their weapons. Alongside MC Moon Ga-young, Jung Yong-hwa, Lee Jang-won, Sunwoojunga, and Ha Sung-woon will participate as directors. The show is set to premiere on October 21st.

Moon Ga-young made her acting debut as a child actress in the 2006 MBC drama 'Island' and has since built a steady career, appearing in numerous works like 'Bake Me to the Moon' and 'Heartstrings'. She gained significant recognition and popularity by playing the lead role of Lim Ju-kyung in the 2020 tvN drama 'True Beauty'. More recently, she made a memorable special appearance in the JTBC drama 'Reborn Rich' as the fiancée of the main character (Song Joong-ki).
