Yong-pil Cho Returns to KBS After 28 Years with 'Forever This Moment' Premiere

KBS 2TV's special program, 'Forever This Moment - Yong-pil Cho,' marking the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation, will broadcast the historic concert live for the first time. This special features the legendary singer Yong-pil Cho, who returns to KBS for the first time in 28 years since his 'Big Show' in 1997.

The concert, held at Gocheok Sky Dome on September 6th, showcased Cho's enduring vocal prowess and an unprecedented scale, captivating audiences and creating a unifying experience. Known for numerous groundbreaking achievements, including being the first Korean artist to achieve a million-seller with a single album and surpassing 10 million cumulative album sales, Cho delivered a performance praised for its grand stage production.

A recently released preview trailer on the KBS YouTube channel highlights the electrifying atmosphere, featuring dazzling stage effects and the thunderous cheers of a packed Gocheok Sky Dome, amplifying anticipation for the broadcast. The visual of countless light sticks swaying in unison further emphasizes the overwhelming audience response.

This special concert was offered free of charge, bringing together not only general attendees who applied through NOL but also winners of KBS's 'Memory Recall Event,' individuals from underprivileged communities, national heroes and their descendants, and firefighters dedicated to national safety, adding significant meaning to the event. Despite unexpected heavy rain, the concert achieved a remarkable 97% audience occupancy rate, proving the immense interest in this historical performance.

'Forever This Moment - Yong-pil Cho' will be broadcast on October 6th at 7:40 PM KST on KBS 2TV.

Yong-pil Cho holds the distinction of being the first Korean artist to achieve a million-seller with a single album. He also made history by being the first to surpass 10 million cumulative album sales in Korea. Furthermore, he is the first Korean singer to win an award at the Japan Golden Disc Awards, solidifying his international acclaim.
