Comedienne Sung Hyun-joo Announces Second Pregnancy, Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Late Son

Comedienne Sung Hyun-joo has shared her joy over her second pregnancy while also expressing her enduring love and remembrance for her first son, whom she lost.

In a lengthy social media post accompanied by photos of numerous syringes, Sung revealed the details of her fertility treatment journey. "Over a hundred eggs were retrieved from my ovaries, and one of them has become a life, now filling my womb," she stated.

She reflected on the profound experience of motherhood, acknowledging that immense happiness can be accompanied by unexpected pain. "Instead of the strange ecstasy I've never felt before, the sharp pains also arrive overnight. Yet, I am trying to become a mother again," she wrote, conveying the complex emotions of anticipation for her second child while still mourning her late son.

Sung also extended words of encouragement to others undergoing IVF treatments. "To all my comrades who are piercing your thick bellies with needles and staring intently at pregnancy tests! I sincerely wish that you pass through a less difficult time and meet your precious life soon," she urged.

Sung debuted as a KBS comedian in 2007 and married a non-celebrity in 2011. She welcomed her son in January 2014. Tragically, her son fell ill suddenly in 2018 and passed away at the age of five in 2020 after a three-year battle with illness.
