tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Chicken Guy Project' held a press conference ahead of its premiere on September 15th.

The series is a 'dispute resolution hero drama' centered around 'Mr. Shin,' a former legendary negotiator now running a chicken shop, who solves cases by navigating both legal and illegal means. The drama aims to offer warm comfort in an era defined by 'communication breakdown.'

Director Shin Kyo-soo expressed his delight at reuniting with actor Han Suk-kyu ten years after 'Deep Rooted Tree.' He jokingly remarked, "I feel apologetic for moving from portraying King Yeongjo to a chicken shop owner." He added, "We shared similar perspectives on storytelling, making conversations flow smoothly. I also received immense help as a director from watching him guide numerous actors to deliver their best performances on set."

Han Suk-kyu takes on the role of 'Mr. Shin,' the chicken shop owner, portraying a character whose past as a high-flying negotiator contrasts with his current humble profession. He described his character as "unassuming and someone who resolves issues by interacting with his neighbors." He expressed his hope that the drama would convey "the importance of communication and consideration for others in our current lives."

Bae Hyun-sung plays 'Jo Philip,' a rookie judge and chicken shop employee, while Lee Re portrays 'Lee Si-on,' an MZ generation delivery rider, both adding vitality to the series. The three main actors revealed they had built strong teamwork by meeting at least twice a week for two months prior to filming, engaging in script readings and character analyses.

Han Suk-kyu acknowledged the pressure from the success of his previous works but expressed gratitude for the cherished memories made with viewers. He emphasized his desire to convey "the mindset of living with a sense of surplus, even when it means taking a small loss."

Director Shin explained that the drama's appeal lies in the witty, sincere, and sometimes cunning ways the protagonist solves cases, alongside the mystery of why 'Mr. Shin' decided to run a chicken shop.

Han Suk-kyu made his debut in the 1984 play 'Hamlet' and is a veteran actor with a career spanning stage, television, and film. He is renowned for his profound acting and meticulous character analysis, leaving a lasting impression on audiences with every role he undertakes.
