Lee Young-ae Reveals Daughter, 15, is Auditioning for Idol Debut

Actress Lee Young-ae has shared an update on her 15-year-old daughter, revealing her aspirations to become an idol. Appearing on the YouTube channel 'Jjanhhanhyeong Shin Dong-yeop', Lee Young-ae discussed her children and mentioned that her daughter is actively pursuing auditions in the music industry.

"My daughter is very interested in idols right now. She's auditioning," Lee Young-ae shared, adding, "I'm letting her be. If I stop her, she might say later, 'I couldn't do it because of mom.'" When asked if her daughter's interest stemmed from her own fandom of BTS (ARMY), she replied, "My daughter also likes TXT and BOYNEXTDOOR. I took her to see them." This revealed a shared enjoyment of K-pop culture between mother and daughter.

However, Lee Young-ae also expressed concerns about the entertainment industry's realities. "I think she sees it too easily. When you see your mom, you only see the good parts, right? You don't see how much hardship went into it, or the struggles she's going through. You only see the glamour," she confided. Her daughter is currently majoring in vocal music at an arts middle school, and her past photoshoots showcasing her striking beauty are also resurfacing.

Lee Young-ae debuted as a commercial model in 1990 before venturing into acting. She married a businessman in 2009 and has twins, a son and a daughter. After a hiatus following the drama 'Saimdang, Memoir of Colors' in 2017, she announced her comeback project, 'Maestra'.
