TVING's original series 'Dear X' has confirmed its status as a highly anticipated drama by selling out all screening tickets at the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

The series, set to premiere on November 6th, tells the story of Baek A-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung), a top actress who dons a mask to ascend to the highest echelons of fame after escaping her past, and the 'X's' she tramples along the way. It is a destructive melodrama suspense exploring the tragic love between Baek A-jin, who hides a cruel nature behind a beautiful facade, and Yoon Jun-seo (played by Kim Young-dae), who chooses hell to protect her.

Officially invited to the 'On Screen' section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival, 'Dear X' saw all its general screening tickets snapped up the moment sales began on the 9th. With some episodes making their world premiere, outdoor stage greetings and GV (Guest Visit) screenings are scheduled for the 18th and 19th.

A recently released teaser poster highlights the striking visual chemistry between Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Young-dae. Baek A-jin's impassive expression and vacant eyes, revealing nothing of her thoughts, along with Yoon Jun-seo's deep sorrow as he embraces her, and the tagline 'May your ruin be my salvation' hint at a narrative of a precarious and complex relationship.

Helmed by director Lee Eung-bok, known for hits like 'Goblin' and 'Mr. Sunshine,' this marks his first project for TVING. The script, co-written by Choi Ja-won, winner of the Grand Prize at the KBS One-Act Drama Screenwriting Contest, and original author Ban Ji-woon, is expected to delicately expand the emotional depth of the original work.

Meanwhile, 'Dear X' recently faced controversy over the similarity of its initial launch poster to a Chinese film's design. Following online community discussions, the production team stated, 'We belatedly recognized the similarity to a specific reference and immediately ceased its use,' and sincerely apologized for not scrutinizing the production process carefully. The teaser poster has since been replaced, further heightening expectations for the drama.

TVING's 'Dear X' will premiere on November 6th.

Kim Yoo-jung, a former child actress, has proven her acting prowess in numerous projects, earning acclaim for her roles in 'The Moon Embracing the Sun' and 'Love in the Moonlight'. She recently expanded her horizons with a different charm in the film '20th Century Girl'. Her consistent performances have solidified her position as a leading actress in the Korean entertainment industry.
