KATSEYE's 'Gabriela' Climbs UK Charts and Spotify, Proving Global Girl Group Prowess
The global girl group KATSEYE, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, is experiencing a surge in popularity. Their track 'Gabriela' continues to climb the UK Official Charts and Spotify, nearing its all-time peak positions in its 12th week since release.
According to the UK Official Charts (September 12-18), 'Gabriela' secured the 45th position on the Official Singles Top 100. This resurgence in the charts follows an impactful performance at the Lollapalooza Chicago festival in early August, which ignited social media and propelled the song back into the rankings. The track has shown a steep upward trend for six consecutive weeks and has now charted for a total of 10 weeks, standing just three spots shy of the group's highest charting position at 42.
The upward momentum is also evident on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform. In the latest Weekly Top Songs Global chart (September 5-11), 'Gabriela' jumped an impressive 12 places from the previous week to reach 16th, closely approaching its chart peak of 15th. Beyond 'Gabriela,' KATSEYE has achieved a triple-charting success, with 'Gnarly' maintaining a presence for 19 consecutive weeks and 'Touch' charting for five weeks.
KATSEYE's monthly listener count on Spotify has also seen consistent growth. The most recent data (August 15 - September 11) indicates 29,469,082 monthly listeners, a significant increase from the approximately 8.19 million listeners during their debut EP 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' promotions.
KATSEYE is a global girl group formed through a joint project between HYBE and Geffen Records.
They were selected through the audition program 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' which saw over 120,000 applicants.
Debuting in the United States, the group is developed under HYBE America's T&D (Training & Development) system.
