It has been three years since the beloved singer Park Jung-woon left us.

Park Jung-woon had been battling liver cirrhosis and diabetes for an extended period. Despite repeated surgeries and hospitalizations, his health continued to decline, and he passed away at the age of 57 at Asan Medical Center in Seoul on September 17, 2022, unable to recover.

He debuted in 1989 with his first album, 'WHO, ME?'. He went on to leave a legacy of numerous hit songs, including 'A Long Time Ago' (먼 훗날에), 'Love Just For You' (그대만을 위한 사랑), and 'If It Were a Night Like Tonight' (오늘 같은 밤이면), solidifying his status as a leading ballad singer of the 1990s. His musical talent was recognized with awards such as the Encouragement Award at the Korea Visual Records Awards in 1994 and the Artist of the Year Award at the KBS Music Awards in 1995.

However, behind his successful career, he fought a difficult battle with illness. He spent his final days struggling with liver cirrhosis and diabetes, ultimately succumbing to his condition.

News of his passing came as a shock and brought deep sadness to many fans and the public. The sorrow was amplified by the fact that he was preparing for a comeback and working on new music at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and daughter, who reside in the United States, and a wave of tributes flowed from fans and colleagues.

Fellow singer Park Jae-jung honored the late artist on his personal SNS, recalling, "I remember the moment when you shed tears after listening to my rendition of 'Love Just For You' on 'Immortal Songs' in 2017. May you rest in peace. My deepest condolences." His heartfelt message touched many.

Even three years later, fans continue to listen to his songs, reminiscing about his youthful and vibrant days. Though time has passed, Park Jung-woon's music continues to live on in the hearts of many, offering comfort and cherished memories.
