Lee Young-ae Recalls Filming a Pesticide Commercial in Her Early Career

Actress Lee Young-ae has garnered attention by confessing to having filmed a pesticide commercial early in her career.

Appearing on the MBC program 'Questions with Son Suk-hee' on the 17th, the actress, celebrating her 35th debut anniversary, shared her journey into the entertainment industry.

She revealed that her debut was through a chocolate advertisement filmed alongside Hong Kong actor Andy Lau. Lee Young-ae mentioned, "It was during my second year of university, but I started as an advertising model through an part-time job in my first year."

What particularly drew attention was her story about appearing in a pesticide commercial before gaining fame. She confessed, "I don't remember exactly where it was, but it was filmed in a rural area. I recall going out to the rice paddies and filming without any hesitation when I was a freshman."

Lee Young-ae then shared the story of how she was cast after the famous "It Depends on the Woman" electronic appliance commercial, which starred the late Choi Jin-sil. "Someone called me, had me sit in a large confectionery's restroom, and filmed me with a camera. After watching the monitor, they immediately took me out. I remember it was filmed in Daehangno," she added.

Lee Young-ae made her debut as a CF model in 1990 and rose to Hallyu star status across Asia with the drama 'Dae Jang Geum' in 2003. Known for her exceptional acting skills and timeless beauty, she earned the nickname 'The Oxygen-like Woman.' She is currently balancing her career with motherhood, raising two children.
