
Lee Hye-ri Wins Two Awards at Buil Film Awards for 'Victory'
Actress Lee Hye-ri achieved a significant milestone at the 34th Buil Film Awards, clinching both the Best New Actress and the Star of the Year awards for her role in the film 'Victory'.
The awards ceremony, held on August 18th at Signiel Busan in Haeundae-gu, Busan, marked a decade since her impactful debut in 'Reply 1988'. Ahead of the awards, Lee expressed her ambition on the red carpet, stating she didn't want to miss out on either award.
Upon receiving the Best New Actress award, a visibly moved Lee shared, "This is truly a very, very happy day." She added, "While playing Pil-seon in 'Victory', I received a lot of comfort." She specifically thanked her co-star Park Se-wan, calling her a "best friend" and a source of great support. She also extended her gratitude to the 'Millennium Girls' members, staff, and her family.
Following up with the Star of the Year award, Lee declared, "I am so thrilled. I will become an actress who works even harder to maintain this popularity going forward."
Lee immediately shared her joy with her fans via social media. She posted, "Today, the happiest person in the world = Lee Hye-ri." She dedicated the honor to all her fans, "ttori," for recognizing 'Victory' and loving the character Pil-seon.
'Victory' tells the story of a school dance club 'Millennium Girls' formed in the late 1990s on Geoje Island, who ignite a passionate cheering culture through dance and music. The film was released in August of last year.
Lee Hye-ri first gained widespread recognition for her role as Sung Deok-seon in the 2015 drama 'Reply 1988', solidifying her acting career. She has since expanded her acting repertoire through various projects, demonstrating continuous growth as a performer. In 2024, she was honored with the Best New Actress and Star of the Year awards at the 34th Buil Film Awards for her performance in 'Victory', reaffirming her acting capabilities.
