Im Yoon-a's character, Yeon Ji-yeong, has found herself in a perilous situation in the tvN drama 'Chef of the Tyrant,' orchestrated by Kang Mok-ju (played by Kang Han-na).

In the episode aired on the 20th, Yeon Ji-yeong secured victory in a cooking competition against Ming envoys, bringing a smile to Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min). However, when the Ming envoy attempted to take Yeon Ji-yeong as a tribute due to the unfavorable outcome, a furious Lee Heon retaliated, escalating tensions between Joseon and Ming.

Grand Queen Dowager Inju (Seo Yi-sook) intervened, calming the situation and proposing that Lee Heon allow Prince Jin-myeong to also taste Yeon Ji-yeong's culinary skills.

Meanwhile, Kang Mok-ju was secretly plotting to trap Yeon Ji-yeong. Aware that Yeon Ji-yeong would be preparing a meal for Prince Jin-myeong, Kang Mok-ju provided medicinal herbs to Minister Jesan (Choi Gwi-hwa), implying they should be altered. Minister Jesan expressed concern about the potential for poisoning, but Kang Mok-ju dismissed his worries, stating the herbs were not inherently poisonous.

During this exchange, Minister Jesan commented to Kang Mok-ju, "The position of concubine to a young king is quite desirable. I thought at some point you would betray me," to which Kang Mok-ju replied, "Thanks to you, Great Prince, I have lived like a human. That is enough," hinting at a complex relationship.

As Lee Heon dined with Prince Jin-myeong, Yeon Ji-yeong encountered Grand Consort Jayeon (Shin Eun-jeong). Grand Consort Jayeon accused Yeon Ji-yeong of poisoning her son, Prince Jin-myeong, with the chicken dish she prepared, and ordered her arrest for interrogation. Despite her protests, Yeon Ji-yeong was taken away.

Upon hearing the news, Kang Mok-ju smirked, expressing a desire to witness Yeon Ji-yeong's suffering during her interrogation.
