Kim Jong-kook Reveals Story Behind His Own Wedding Vows: Did 'Lovely' Finally Find Its Owner?

On the latest episode of 'Running Man', singer and entertainer Kim Jong-kook shared behind-the-scenes stories from his own wedding ceremony.

During the broadcast on the 21st, Kim Jong-kook recalled the moment he personally sang a celebratory song for his wedding held on September 5th. He tied the knot with a non-celebrity bride, and amidst other congratulatory songs from his friends, he decided to take the microphone himself.

The song he chose was 'Sarangseureowo' (Lovely), and he performed it with a live band, creating a memorable stage. Kim Jong-kook admitted, "It was the first time in my life I rehearsed for a congratulatory song just an hour before the actual ceremony," revealing his nervousness. Haha playfully commented, "Jong-kook hyung's congratulatory song was the best," adding, "It feels like 'Sarangseureowo' has finally found its rightful owner," which elicited laughter.

Furthermore, Kim Jong-kook revealed that he spontaneously asked Cha Tae-hyun to perform a second congratulatory song after his own. He mentioned that when Cha Tae-hyun sang 'I Love You,' all the members were moved to tears. The cast members expressed their emotions, stating, "Witnessing the touching performance with Cha Tae-hyun's dance, we deeply empathized with their 30-year friendship," conveying their heartfelt sentiments.

Regarding Kim Jong-kook himself not crying during the wedding, Cha Tae-hyun confessed, "As soon as he grabbed the microphone, he told me to hurry up," revealing his anxious thoughts. Kim Jong-kook also humorously responded, "It was to prevent me from saying anything foolish and to wrap it up quickly," bringing laughter to the set.

Kim Jong-kook explained that he felt compelled to do something spontaneous for Cha Tae-hyun's performance, as it's a tradition for him to do something for his 'Year of the Dragon' club friends whenever they get married.
