Singer Lee Seok Hoon Reveals Grueling 15kg Weight Loss Journey Before Debut: "I Was Originally 100kg"
K-pop star Lee Seok Hoon recently unveiled a shocking detail about his pre-debut days: a rigorous weight loss regimen that saw him shed 15 kilograms in just one month. The revelation came during the MBC program 'Goo Haejwo! Homes' on May 4th, which featured a segment exploring the headquarters of prominent K-pop entertainment agencies, including Cube Entertainment in Seongsu-dong. Cube, known for cultivating groups like 4Minute, BEAST, BTOB, and (G)I-DLE, showcased its public cafe on the first floor, often bustling with global fans. Red Velvet's Wendy, who was also on the show, shared her intense experiences with monthly trainee evaluations, describing how high-ranking officials would attend, demanding a full stage-like performance and offering blunt criticism for any perceived mistakes. Lee Seok Hoon, who debuted in 2008, recounted his unique audition process, which took place in the CEO's office. He performed acapella without a microphone or camera, under the watchful eyes of the entire staff through a glass wall. Upon passing, he was given only two months to prepare for his debut. "I weighed 100kg originally, but I got down to 64kg for my debut. The first month was dedicated solely to losing 15kg, and the second month was for recording," he explained, emphasizing the extreme dedication required to break into the industry.
