BLACKPINK member Rosé has etched her name in K-pop history by winning two prestigious awards, including 'Song of the Year,' at the '2025 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA).' The ceremony was held on the 7th (local time) at the UBS Arena in New York.

Rosé's duet song 'APT.' with Bruno Mars earned her the coveted 'Song of the Year' award, alongside the 'Best Group' award. This marks the first time a K-pop artist has won 'Song of the Year' at the VMAs, significantly elevating the global status of K-pop.

This victory follows her 'Best Group' win with BLACKPINK in 2023, making this her second 'Best Group' award and a significant personal achievement. In her acceptance speech, Rosé expressed disbelief and gratitude, stating, "I can't believe this. I am so grateful to Bruno Mars, who believed in me and helped me from the start." She dedicated the award to her 16-year-old self, who chased her dreams, and thanked producer Teddy and her BLACKPINK members, adding, "Teddy oppa, I won an award. BLACKPINK members, I won an award. Thank you always, I love you."

Following Rosé's success, fellow BLACKPINK member Lisa also took home the 'Best K-pop' award, bringing the group's total to three trophies for the night. HYBE's new girl group Katseye also won 'Push Performance of the Year,' showcasing the growing influence of K-pop on the global music scene.

Born in Australia to Korean parents, Rosé began her journey in music after passing YG Entertainment's global auditions in 2012. She debuted as the main vocalist of the global girl group BLACKPINK in 2016, captivating audiences with her distinctive voice and powerful vocals. Her solo career has also been met with success, featuring hit songs like 'On The Ground' and 'Gone.'
