
JYP's Park Jin-young Tapped to Lead Presidential Committee on Cultural Exchange
Park Jin-young, the renowned singer and chief producer of JYP Entertainment, has been appointed as the chairperson of the newly established Presidential Committee on Cultural Exchange.
On the 9th, President Lee Jae-myung announced the nomination of Park Jin-young alongside Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Choi Hee-young, recognizing his significant contributions to the global spread of K-pop.
Kang Hoon-sik, the Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs, explained that Park was chosen for his role as a leading Korean artist dedicated to K-pop's worldwide popularity, and that he is expected to further promote Korean popular culture abroad and foster the reception of diverse foreign cultures within South Korea.
Park Jin-young is the founder and head producer of JYP Entertainment, profoundly impacting the K-pop industry through his songwriting and producing of numerous hit songs. He has also had a successful solo career, releasing timeless hits like 'Don't Leave Me' and 'Honey.' Beyond nurturing new talent, he actively engages in various social contribution activities.
