Rookie K-pop sensation ILLIT is continuing its impressive global ascent, now making significant waves in Japan. According to the latest Oricon chart data, the group's first Japanese single, ‘Toki Yo Tomare’, secured the second spot on the weekly singles ranking. This achievement surpassed the first-week sales of their previous Korean mini-album ‘bomb’ in Japan, underscoring the group's immense local popularity.

The title track, also named ‘Toki Yo Tomare’, is performing exceptionally well on Japanese music streaming services. It immediately hit number one on the AWA Music real-time rising chart upon release and has maintained a high position since. The accompanying music video also garnered significant attention, topping the LINE Music ‘Music Video Top 100’ real-time chart and remaining at the top of the daily chart.

ILLIT's live performances of ‘Toki Yo Tomare’ at various music shows and festivals have been met with enthusiastic fan reception. Their refreshing and vibrant performance, perfectly capturing the essence of the upbeat disco-pop track, along with an easy-to-follow signature choreography mimicking a ticking clock, has captivated fans and gone viral on short-form video platforms. Fans have praised the group for establishing their unique musical identity, noting their "distinct ILLIT genre" and their flawless execution of a "bubbly style."

Beyond music releases, ILLIT has actively engaged with their Japanese fanbase through various events. Their first fan concert, ‘2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN JAPAN’, held in two cities over August and September, attracted approximately 40,000 attendees. Pop-up stores in Tokyo's Shibuya district, along with themed subway advertisements and cafes, have also seen a constant stream of fans.

Looking ahead, ILLIT is set to perform at Japan's largest music festival, ‘ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025’, on September 14th at the Soga Sports Park in Chiba. They are scheduled to perform on the main GRASS STAGE, further solidifying their presence in the Japanese music scene.

ILLIT is a five-member girl group formed by Belift Lab, a subsidiary of HYBE Corporation. They officially debuted on March 25, 2024, with the song 'Magnetic.' The group consists of members Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha. They quickly rose to prominence, being recognized as one of the most anticipated rookie groups of the year.
