Chun Woo-hee Recalls First Love Dilemma: 'I Was Too Scared of Her Kickboxing Girlfriend'
Actress Chun Woo-hee has shared a memorable, albeit slightly terrifying, story from her first love days.
Appearing on the YouTube channel ‘NaraeSik’ with co-star Song Joong-ki for their drama ‘My Youth’, Chun Woo-hee opened up during a chat with MC Park Na-rae.
When asked if she would pursue a past first love if given the chance, Chun Woo-hee confessed she probably wouldn't. She revealed a middle school crush on a senior who she described as having a cute, buzz-cut hairstyle. She harbored a year-long unrequited love, admiring him from afar.
Chun Woo-hee admitted she contemplated confessing her feelings but was dissuaded by a friend. The situation took a turn when she discovered her crush had a girlfriend, who turned out to be not only a school bully but also a kickboxer. The actress confessed that the fear of the kickboxing girlfriend made her abandon her year-long affections, regretting that she didn't push for her feelings if it was 'true love'.
‘My Youth’ stars Song Joong-ki as Sun-woo-hae and Chun Woo-hee as Sung Je-yeon, depicting an emotional romance about two individuals starting their ordinary lives later than others.
Chun Woo-hee debuted in 2004 with the film 'My Tutor'. She has since captivated audiences with her performances in films such as 'Sunny', 'Han Gong-ju', 'The Wailing', and 'Anchor'. Her role in 'Han Gong-ju' earned her critical acclaim, including the Best Actress award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
