Jun Jong-seo Reunites with Family in Toronto, Cherishes TIFF Premiere

Actress Jun Jong-seo experienced a heartwarming reunion with her family at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) while attending the premiere of her film, 'Project Y'. The festival marked a significant return to Canada, a place where she lived during her middle school years for studies abroad.

During a 'Close-Up Talk' session on September 12, Jun shared her personal connection to the city. "I used to live here when I studied abroad in middle school," she revealed. "I really missed my family, and they came to the premiere yesterday. Being able to see them again felt so special."

She also expressed gratitude towards co-star Han So-hee for her unwavering support despite a demanding schedule. "She was in the middle of fan meetings and still came even though she wasn't feeling well. I was so grateful," Jun stated with a smile. "This is our last official event here, and seeing a full house makes me very happy."

Adding a touch of humor, Jun playfully commented on Toronto's autumn chill. "It's cold here, so my manager went out and bought me an electric blanket for the hotel," she laughed, holding up a hot pack she was carrying, which elicited laughter from the audience.

Directed and written by Lee Hwan, 'Project Y' centers on two women, Miseon (Han So-hee) and Dokyung (Jun Jong-seo), who, finding themselves with nothing, attempt to escape their desperation by stealing hidden cash and gold bars. The film premiered on September 10 in TIFF's Special Presentations section with director Lee and the two lead actresses in attendance, receiving a warm reception from local fans.

Jun Jong-seo burst onto the scene with her critically acclaimed debut in Lee Chang-dong's 'Burning' (2018). She has since garnered attention for her unique acting prowess in films like 'The Call' and 'Love and Leashes'. Her upcoming project, 'Ballerina', is highly anticipated by fans.
