SHINee's Key Revealed as Descendant of National Meritorious Patriots on 'I Live Alone'

South Korean boy band SHINee member Key's status as a descendant of national meritorious patriots has been revealed, capturing significant attention.

In a preview for the upcoming episode of the MBC variety show 'I Live Alone,' aired on the 12th, Key was shown visiting the National Yatong National Cemetery.

Despite the rainy weather, Key carried a generous amount of gifts and stated, "Today, I'm going to visit some very special people." He further explained, "This is the National Cemetery in Yatong, where my grandparents who fought in the Korean War are laid to rest. It's been a while since I visited," confirming his family's connection to national heroes.

Upon arriving at the cemetery, Key greeted his grandparents' tombstones, asking, "Have you been well?" He quietly remarked, "The rain even stopped when I said I was coming to visit."

Key shared a poignant memory: "My grandmother's death anniversary and my birthday fall on the same day, so for about two to three years, I couldn't even bear to look at cakes." He added, "But recently, that day's meaning has changed a lot. I now spend it quietly remembering her."

He also defined the meaning of family as "the confidence that you have a place to endure even if you lose everything," and visited his mother at his childhood home in Daegu, adding a heartwarming touch to the episode.

'I Live Alone' airs every Friday at 11:10 PM.
