Lawyer Kim Hee-joon has shed light on the alarming reality of drug use among teenagers and those in their 20s, urging for heightened awareness.

During the broadcast of KBS2's 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' on the 14th, lawyer Kim Hee-joon was featured preparing for a mock trial with students from a drug prevention club.

Kim appeared on a university campus, stating, "I'm here today to help the university student drug prevention club I sponsor and support with their mock trial preparation. I rush to wherever Kim Hee-joon is needed." This prompted a lighthearted joke from Jeon Hyun-moo, who quipped, "Are you not getting many cases?"

Describing the drug prevention club, Kim explained, "It's a nationwide university student drug prevention club. It's a group where university students gather to work towards eradicating drugs."

He delivered a shocking revelation: "Flyers advertising 'drug parties' have been posted all over schools in Seoul." Upon seeing the flyers, which were written in English, Seo Dong-joo interpreted, "It means come quickly before it's outlawed, since it's legalized," to which Jeon Hyun-moo expressed his disbelief, saying, "It's truly malicious to claim it's legal."

Lawyer Kim further elaborated, "These flyers were distributed at various universities in Seoul." He revealed, "Two years ago, there was actually a drug-use club at a prestigious university," adding that "drug offenders in their teens and 20s are rapidly increasing."

When Park Myung-soo expressed concern, asking, "Can't you go back to being a prosecutor? Shouldn't you catch them all?" Kim explained, "That's why I'm actively working on drug prevention, as I don't have investigative authority."

After the mock trial, lawyer Kim emphasized the severe penalties for "drug mules" (smugglers who transport drugs received from overseas via airplane), stating, "The sentencing is very heavy." He warned, "For drugs worth approximately 100 million won, sentences can range from over 10 years to life imprisonment." He reiterated the importance of avoiding drugs, noting, "The penalties for drug offenses have become extremely strict, and if you work as a mule, there's a high chance of receiving a sentence of over 10 years."

Beyond his advocacy against drug use, lawyer Kim Hee-joon actively engages with the public through appearances on various television programs. He not only provides legal counsel but also dedicates efforts to educating youth about crime prevention, demonstrating a strong commitment to social contribution. Notably, he participates in lectures and campaigns to raise awareness about drug-related crimes, contributing to improved public understanding.
